The How to’s of Writing an Information Technology Literature Review

Literature Review of Technology

According to CIO, only half of organizations require a password for critical data. That’s half of all organizations with critical data unprotected! As far as attacks on companies and others go, Japan has the highest traffic. 30% of attacks on unsecured data, hacks, and attempts to bring websites down originate from Japan. The USA is close behind, and China is next. There’s also a severe lack of people with Enterprise skills. All in all, the picture for IT suggests plenty of room to improve and grow. That makes it a good job prospect for you if you’re interested in joining the IT field. You’ll be able to protect people’s data and help them increase their security. It’s an occupation that can be both useful and lucrative for someone who gets themselves in the right place at the right time.  For having the best results of studying you may need a help of IT literature review writing services.

Technology Literature Review Example

How can you write your information technology literature review? Check out our guide to the parts.

Abstract. Your abstract should define and explain the purpose of your review. The length will vary depending on what you’re writing, but in general, you should write it after you’re done with the paper even though it appears at the top. Think of it as a summary. Sometimes an abstract is divided into context, objective, method, results, and conclusion. Here’s an example of a piece of abstract:

Automated static analysis (ASA) identifies potential source code anomalies early in the software development lifecycle that could lead to field failures. Excessive alert generation and a large proportion of unimportant or incorrect alerts (unactionable alerts) may cause developers to reject the use of ASA. Techniques that identify anomalies important enough for developers to fix (actionable alerts) may increase the usefulness of ASA in practice.

Intro. In addition to your abstract, you’ll need a proper introduction. This differs from an abstract in that you won’t discuss your findings, just your research question. Start with a strong first sentence such as a definition or question. For instance, “How is it that although we can create computers that can solve nearly any solvable problem, we cannot create computers that can speak in a naturalistic human fashion?” Remember that you’ll need a thesis, which will be a sentence stating your point. For instance, “Natural language processing is within our grasp within the next twenty years.”
The review. For the review of the literature itself, you’ll be discussing various papers, comparing, and contrasting. For instance, you could say “While Levay thinks that our networks are sophisticated enough for language, Amberly says they are not.”
Findings. Sum up your review and the broad picture of how you found the field. This should go over what you have discussed but in a more conclusive way, drawing connections and conclusions.
Conclusion. In your conclusion, make sure you sum up what you found out in a neat and concise way, but go on to discuss the ways that this field could be improved. Future questions are a good idea; you can talk about what’s still left to improve on. For instance, “There’s still not enough information about neural networks to see if they’ll be the first to process speech naturalistically.”
